The Fall of Queen Vashti

This is part of the Esther study series we are doing an in depth study of the book of Esther using the study book from The Daily Grace Co titled Esther Seeing God when He is Silent.

During our second Bible study meeting we dove into the actual book of Esther and read about King Xerxes and his lavish party where he wanted to show off his prized possession…. His wife Queen Vashti.

We don’t know exactly why but we know that Queen Vashti turned him down and did not show up to the party to be paraded around. Good for her. Bad for Xerxes ego. He got so riled up and let his friends convince him to get rid of her and search for a new queen to replace her.

Within the study it was pointed out that God has his hands upon all things and that by Queen Vashti refusing to obey the Kings command that set in place a chain of events that would allow Gods plan to come to fruition. Xerxes search for a new queen would lead Esther to her place in the kingdom and we all know she was brought into the kingdom… for such a time as this!

Just a good reminder that even when it might not seem like it or make a lot of sense, God has his hand upon all things and will work all things for good!
